They’re crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside – and yes, many husbands will devour the whole tray!


🔥 Cheesy Garlic Mashed Potato Balls

📝 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cold mashed potatoes (leftovers work great!)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or chives
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs (for coating)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan (optional)
  • Oil spray (for air fryer or baking)

🧑‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Mix the filling:

In a large bowl, combine:

  • Mashed potatoes
  • Cheese
  • Garlic
  • Herbs
  • Salt & pepper

Mix well until everything is incorporated.

2. Form the balls:

Scoop out about 1 tablespoon of mixture and roll into balls. You should get 12–16 balls depending on size.

3. Coat:

Dip each ball into the beaten egg, then roll in breadcrumbs (mixed with Parmesan if using).

4. Cook:

Air Fryer Method (preferred):

  • Preheat to 375°F (190°C)
  • Spray balls lightly with oil
  • Air fry for 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crispy.

Oven Method:

  • Preheat to 400°F (200°C)
  • Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment
  • Spray with oil
  • Bake for 18–20 minutes or until crispy and golden.

🧄 Optional Dips:

  • Garlic aioli
  • Spicy sriracha mayo
  • Ranch dressing
  • Marinara sauce

🔁 Tips:

  • Add bacon bits or jalapeños for a fun twist.
  • Use gluten-free breadcrumbs if needed.
  • Can be frozen before or after cooking.
