Air Fryer Cauliflower Wings

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup water or milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 cup buffalo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Optional: ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cauliflower
    Wash and cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets. Make sure they are roughly the same size for even cooking.
  2. Make the Batter
    In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add the water or milk, mixing until you have a smooth batter.
  3. Coat the Cauliflower
    Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated. Allow any excess batter to drip off.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer
    Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Air Fry the Cauliflower Wings
    Place the battered cauliflower florets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer. Spray lightly with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
  6. Cook
    Air fry the cauliflower for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Toss in Buffalo Sauce
    Once cooked, transfer the cauliflower wings to a large bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Serve
    Serve the cauliflower wings hot with ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Tips

  • Adjust the Heat: If you prefer milder wings, you can mix the buffalo sauce with some melted butter or use a milder hot sauce.
  • Extra Crispiness: For even crispier wings, you can double-batter them by dipping them in the batter again after the first air fry, then air fry them a second time for 5-7 minutes.
  • Storage: Leftover wings can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer to restore their crispiness.
