Get the Air fryer recipe for chicken tikka, a delicious Indian dish that the whole family will love. Serve as an appetizer or main.
INGREDIENTS
- 3-4 large pieces of boneless chicken unfrozen*
- 1 cup of regular or greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 4 teaspoons of red chili powder
- 2 teaspoons of garam masala
- 1 teaspoon of dried coriander
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon of ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional)
- pinch of salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lemon to cut into quarters and serve along side
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk the yogurt and spices together.
- Chop the chicken pieces into small pieces.
- Add the chicken into the bowl and cover each one generously with the yogurt-spice mixture.
- Place in the fridge for an hour to allow it to marinate.
- Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 375°F (190°C).
- Place the chicken on air fryer basket for 20 minutes, flipping the chicken every 5 minutes or so. (Don’t overcrowd the basket, make in batches as necessary).
- Open the air fryer to see if they are crispy enough for you, and heat them for a couple more minutes if you wish.
- Serve while warm.
NOTES
*If using frozen chicken, let it defrost naturally for at least 1 hour beforehand.
