Buffalo Chicken Wings With Peri Peri Sauce

🔥 Buffalo Chicken Wings with Peri-Peri Sauce

⭐ Ingredients

For the Wings

  • 1 kg chicken wings
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional for extra crispiness)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Buffalo + Peri-Peri Sauce

  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 4 tbsp hot sauce (Frank’s or any buffalo hot sauce)
  • 3 tbsp peri-peri sauce (Nando’s style or homemade)
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional, for balance)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional for extra heat)

🍗 Instructions

1. Prep the Wings

  1. Pat chicken wings dry (important for crispiness).
  2. In a bowl, mix: salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, cornstarch, and olive oil.
  3. Coat wings evenly.

2. Choose Your Cooking Method

Air Fryer (Best & Easiest)

  • Preheat to 200°C (390°F).
  • Place wings in one layer.
  • Cook 18–20 min, flipping halfway.
  • Wings should be golden and crispy.

Oven

  • Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
  • Place wings on a baking rack over a tray.
  • Bake 40–45 min, flipping at 25 min.

Deep Fry (Most Crispy)

  • Heat oil to 180°C.
  • Fry wings 10–12 min until golden.

3. Make the Buffalo Peri-Peri Sauce

In a saucepan on low heat, melt butter and whisk in:

  • Hot sauce
  • Peri-peri
  • Honey
  • Lemon juice
  • Chili flakes

Mix until smooth.

4. Coat the Wings

  • Add hot crispy wings to a bowl.
  • Pour the Buffalo-Peri-Peri sauce over them.
  • Toss until fully coated.

🍽️ Serve With

  • Ranch or blue cheese dip
  • Celery sticks
  • Fries
  • Garlic mayo

  • Buffalo = tangy, buttery heat
  • Peri-Peri = citrus, chili, smoky heat
