Cajun Marinated Chicken in the Air Fryer
Ingredients:
- 4 pieces of chicken (thighs, breasts, or drumsticks)
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt (optional, based on Cajun seasoning)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Cooking spray
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Marinade:
- In a bowl, mix Cajun seasoning, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Coat the chicken pieces evenly with the marinade.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours for better flavor absorption.
2. Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
3. Cook the Chicken:
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Place the marinated chicken pieces in the basket in a single layer, ensuring they don’t overlap.
- Cook for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
- Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
4. Serve:
- Serve hot with a side of rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
- Optional: Garnish with fresh parsley or a squeeze of lemon for added flavor.
Tips:
- For spicier chicken, add extra Cajun seasoning or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the marinade.
- If using chicken breasts, pound them lightly to ensure even cooking.
- Avoid overcrowding the basket for proper air circulation and crispiness.
