A quick and healthy snack made with oats, honey, and your favorite add-ins, cooked to perfection in the air fryer.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (200g) rolled oats
- 1/2 cup (125g) honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup (60g) melted butter or coconut oil
- 1/4 cup (60g) brown sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup (50g) dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, or chopped dates)
- 1/4 cup (50g) nuts or seeds (almonds, sunflower seeds, or pumpkin seeds)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Mixture
- In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, dried fruits, nuts, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix melted butter (or coconut oil), honey (or maple syrup), sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and mix well until the oats are fully coated.
- Shape the Flapjacks
- Line a small baking dish or cake tin with parchment paper (one that fits your air fryer).
- Transfer the mixture to the dish, pressing it down firmly with a spatula to create an even layer.
- Air Fry the Flapjacks
- Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for 3 minutes.
- Place the dish in the air fryer basket and cook for 12–15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Check halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- Cool and Slice
- Remove the dish from the air fryer and let it cool completely. This helps the flapjacks firm up.
- Once cooled, cut into bars or squares.
- Serve and Store
- Enjoy your granola flapjacks as a snack or breakfast on the go.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
Optional Variations
- Chocolate Lover’s Flapjacks: Add 1/4 cup (50g) chocolate chips to the mixture.
- Spiced Flapjacks: Add 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor.
- Tropical Twist: Use dried pineapple, coconut flakes, and macadamia nuts.
