Oven-Fried Chicken Legs (Air Fryer Style)
Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for making crispy oven-fried chicken legs using an air fryer:
Ingredients:
- 6 chicken drumsticks
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for spice)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- Cooking spray or a light drizzle of oil
Instructions:
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Pat the chicken legs dry with paper towels. This helps the coating stick better.
- Set Up Breading Station:
- In a bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- In a second bowl, whisk the eggs with milk.
- In a third bowl, add the breadcrumbs.
- Coat the Chicken:
- Dredge each chicken leg in the flour mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated. Shake off excess flour.
- Dip it into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Roll it in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure the coating sticks.
- Preheat Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Cook the Chicken:
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the chicken legs in a single layer, leaving space between them.
- Lightly spray or drizzle oil on top of the chicken to help it crisp up.
- Air fry for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) using a meat thermometer.
- Serve:
- Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a few minutes before serving. Pair with your favorite dipping sauces or sides.
Enjoy your crispy and juicy air-fried chicken legs!
