For the Dough
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 cup warm milk (or warm water)
- 1 egg (optional – for extra softness)
For the Filling (choose any):
1. Chicken Filling
- 1 cup cooked shredded chicken
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise or cream cheese
- Salt + pepper
- ½ tsp paprika or curry
- ½ cup grated cheese (optional)

2. Cheese & Herbs
- Mozzarella or cheddar cubes
- Pinch of oregano or parsley
3. Potato Filling
- 2 potatoes mashed
- Salt + pepper
- ½ tsp cumin
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp butter
For Brushing
- 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add oil/butter, egg, salt, and flour.
- Knead for 8–10 minutes until dough becomes soft and smooth.
- Cover and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
2. Prepare the Filling
Choose any filling and mix together. Keep aside.
3. Shape the Rolls
- Punch down the dough and divide into 8–12 balls.
- Flatten each ball, add 1–2 tbsp filling, then seal tightly like a bun.
- Place on a baking tray lined with paper.
4. Final Rise
Let the stuffed rolls rest for 20–30 minutes.
5. Bake
- Brush with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15–18 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Brush with melted butter right after baking for extra softness.
Tips for Super Soft Rolls
- Use warm (not hot) milk.
- Knead the dough well until elastic.
- Don’t overbake — remove when lightly golden.
- Cover with a clean towel after baking to keep them fluffy.
