  • 300g ground beef (or ground turkey/chicken)
  • 1 small green cabbage (about ½ kg), chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped (or 1 tbsp tomato paste)
  • 1 potato, peeled and diced (optional)
  • 1 liter (4 cups) of water or broth (chicken or beef)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • ½ tsp cumin (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

🍳 Instructions – Step by Step

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

Wash and chop all the vegetables: cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, and potato (if using).
Mince the onion and garlic.

Step 2: Cook the Meat

  1. In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft (about 3 minutes).
  3. Add the minced garlic and stir for 30 seconds.
  4. Add the ground meat and cook until browned (5–7 minutes).
    • Break it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
    • Season lightly with salt and pepper.

Step 3: Add Vegetables

  1. Add the chopped carrots and tomatoes (or tomato paste).
  2. Stir and cook for about 3 minutes until the tomatoes soften.
  3. Add the cabbage and potato cubes.
  4. Mix everything well with the meat.

Step 4: Add Liquid

  1. Pour in the water or broth.
  2. Add paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir, cover, and bring to a boil.

Step 5: Simmer

  1. Once it starts boiling, lower the heat to medium-low.
  2. Let it simmer for 25–30 minutes until the cabbage is tender and flavors blend.

Step 6: Taste and Serve

  1. Taste and adjust seasoning (salt or pepper).
  2. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
  3. Serve hot with a slice of bread or toast. 🥖
