Cheesy Bacon and Sausage Breakfast Bake
Ingredients:
- 6 slices of bacon (cut into small pieces)
- 250 grams of sausage (crumbled or chopped)
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup of milk
- 6 eggs
- 4 cups of bread (cut into small cubes)
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 cup of chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Bacon and Sausage:
- In a large skillet, fry the bacon pieces until crispy. Remove and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess grease.
- In the same skillet, cook the sausage until fully browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Mix the Egg Mixture:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper.
- Layer the Ingredients:
- Grease a baking dish with oil or butter. Spread the bread cubes evenly at the bottom.
- Add the cooked bacon and sausage on top of the bread, then sprinkle the shredded cheese over them.
- Pour the Egg Mixture:
- Evenly pour the egg mixture over the ingredients, ensuring all the bread is soaked.
- Bake:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Bake the dish for 30-35 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
- Serve:
- Allow the bake to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
Tip:
You can prepare this dish the night before and refrigerate it. In the morning, just bake it for a warm and delicious breakfast!
