Cheesy Garlic Chicken and Rice Bake with Parmesan Cream Sauce that you’ll love!

Ingredients

For the Chicken and Rice Bake:

  • 2 cups cooked white rice (jasmine or basmati works well)
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Parmesan Cream Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk (or heavy cream for extra richness)
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken and Rice

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced chicken, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook until browned (about 5–7 minutes).
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1–2 minutes. Remove from heat.

2. Make the Parmesan Cream Sauce

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1–2 minutes until lightly golden.
  2. Slowly whisk in the milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  3. Add Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and thickened. Remove from heat.

3. Assemble and Bake

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, cooked chicken, and Parmesan cream sauce. Mix well.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly on top.
  3. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. For a golden brown top, broil for the last 2–3 minutes.

4. Serve and Enjoy!

  • Let the bake rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or extra Parmesan cheese.
