Baking Soda and Lemon Water Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (250 ml) cold or room-temperature water
- ½ fresh lemon
- ⅛ teaspoon baking soda
- 2–3 lemon slices, optional
- Ice cubes, optional
Instructions:
- Pour the water into a glass.
- Squeeze the juice from ½ lemon into the water.
- Add ⅛ teaspoon of baking soda slowly. The mixture will fizz, so add it gradually.
- Stir gently until the bubbling settles.
- Add a few lemon slices and ice if desired.
- Drink immediately.
Important Note:
Do not use large amounts of baking soda. It contains a significant amount of sodium and excessive intake can cause health problems. People who need to limit sodium, have kidney or heart problems, or take certain medications should avoid using baking soda as a drink unless their healthcare professional recommends it.
Tip: For a simple everyday lemon drink, you can skip the baking soda altogether and simply combine fresh lemon juice with water.
