Easy Instant Pot Spaghetti with Ground Beef
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- ½ yellow onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh minced garlic
- 3 cups water
- 1 jar spaghetti sauce
- 1 can diced tomatoes, optional
- 16 ounces spaghetti noodles
Instructions
- Set the Instant Pot to Sauté mode. Once hot, add the olive oil and diced onion. Cook until the onion begins to soften.
- Add the ground beef, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and fresh minced garlic. Cook until the beef is completely browned and cooked through.
- Remove the beef mixture from the pot. Pour in the water and thoroughly scrape the bottom of the pot to remove any browned bits. This helps prevent a Burn warning.
- Break the spaghetti noodles in half and arrange them in a crisscross pattern inside the Instant Pot.
- Pour the spaghetti sauce evenly over the noodles. If using diced tomatoes, spread them over the sauce.
- Pour the water around the sides and over the top of the tomatoes. Gently press the noodles down to make sure they are mostly covered with liquid.
- Return the cooked ground beef to the pot and secure the lid. Set the valve to Sealing, then select Pressure Cook and set the timer for 5 minutes.
- When cooking is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 5 minutes. Then carefully perform a quick release and wait until the pressure pin drops completely.
- Open the lid and stir the spaghetti, sauce, tomatoes, and ground beef together until well combined.
- Serve hot with a fresh dinner salad and garlic cheese toast, if desired.
